An accessory for machines with the Bernina hook system and a maximum stitch width of 9mm, this plate fits the widely-spaced feed system of these models but has a narrow needle opening of only 5.5mm. This provides additional support for stitches 5.5mm or less in width. The extra support prevents excessive 'flagging' of the fabric, and reduces the chance of the fabric being pushed into the needle plate.
