Bernina Bobbin Case - Gold Latch: For Embroidery - For Rotary Hook Models (See info for compatible machines)

Also called the Gold Latch and Pigtail bobbin case, this case is used in rotary hook systems in conjunction with embroidery modules. Threading the "pigtail" increases the tension on the bobbin thread, pulling the needle thread to the back of the work. This eliminates any "show through" on the surface of the stitching.

Please note: It is recommended to only use this case for embroidery, and to switch back to your standard bobbin case for regular sewing. The gold latch serves as a reminder that this bobbin case is not set for normal sewing.

The bobbin case in your machine can become damaged or simply worn down through regular use. Any burrs or scratches can result in the thread catching on the bobbin case - causing tangles, skipped stitches and thread breakage. The tiny tension screw can also become loose with time.
