Designed specifically for Janome machines, the Purple Tip Needle is a size 90/14 needle with a slightly rounded point. They are designed to prevent skipped stitches when sewing with heavy fabrics, including knits.

The Janome Purple Tip Needle has a slight flare to the needle above the eye to force the fibres of the fabric apart, and a special cobra-shaped head to form a proper needle thread loop. This helps to prevent skipped stitches caused by the fluctuation of the fabric. It works well for dense embroidery designs and thick fabric, and for stitching through all the layers of a quilt.
