Janome's Convertible Even Feed Foot Set is designed with convenient features especially for quilters. The set includes everything you need for gorgeous quilting: an Even Feed Foot with Closed Toe, Convertible Open Toe Foot for extra visibility, Ditch Quilting Guide, and Adjustable left/right Quilting Guide. The new construction of these feet make it easier than ever to set up for all kinds of quilting tasks!

The Even Feed Foot (sometimes referred to as the Walking Foot) is a clever attachment designed with a set of built-in feed dogs (teeth) that grip and advance the upper layer of fabric whilst working in unison with the sewing machine feed dogs as they grip the underside of the fabric. This action helps to prevent layers of fabric from “shifting apart” as they move through the machine.

It is an essential attachment with many benefits. It's useful when matching stripes and checks, or sewing velvets, making up knitwear or long seams on curtains. It is also useful when tackling difficult materials such as leather, vinyl or plastics. 

The open toe version included in this set is especially useful for quilters as it allows better visibility of the stitching and needle position.

When used with one of the included quilting guides it's a must for quilters, helping to maintain perfect parallel lines and keeping fabric and batting layers from feeding unevenly.
