Baby Lock Cover Stitch BLCS

Have you ever looked closely at the hems of your t-shirts or sweatshirts? The top of the hem usually looks like a twin-needle stitch whereas the underside of the hem resembles a zig-zag stitch. This is a coverstitch, and it is much more elastic and durable than anything that can be produced on a standard sewing machine.

The Baby Lock Cover Stitch (BLCS) specialises in hemming stretch and knit fabrics in an elastic and durable way. It is a 4-thread coverstitch/chain stitch machine that enables you to effortlessly create triple, wide and narrow coverstitch as well as chain stitch. It offers a professional finish on hems, belt loops, bindings and much more, and is the perfect partner to any overlocker or sewing machine.

The Baby Lock Cover Stitch has enormous penetration force and gives high precision stitches, irrespective of whether the fabric is firm or stretchy, even over cross seams.

The ingenious Jet-Air™ system makes threading your Baby Lock Cover Stitch so easy. You define the threading order. You no longer need to follow any coloured threading points or start again from the beginning because of a threading error. Forget about loose threads that may cause tangles and confusion: simply choose the desired looper thread, insert it into the threading port, push the lever and the yarn will be threaded up to the tip of the looper as if by magic.

The drop feed system is another highlight of the Cover Stitch. The feed dog is lowered automatically whenever you raise the presser foot, making placing and removing the fabric much easier, and preventing any damage to fabric while moving it.

You can say goodbye to frustrating unwanted puckering or wavy seams with knitwear or very fine fabrics. The adjustable differential feed (0.6 – 2.0:1) of the Baby Lock Cover Stitch prevents distortion and gives every stitch that perfect look.

The unique chain off feature is useful if you run out of fabric, and can also be used with decorative threads to create beautiful braids, belt loops or tassels!

Adjusting the thread tension is always a bit fiddly. The Cover Stitch has separate looper thread and needle thread tension dials that are clearly arranged to allow an easy adjustment of the tension for the correct thread, so you can adjust the thread tension to your needs. All tension dials are colour marked and help you manage this task.

An easy-to-reach dial lets you adjust the stitch length without any problems whenever necessary. Use the Cover Stitch to produce a hem or decorative seam. No matter which stitch length you choose, your Baby Lock Cover Stitch will always come up with that perfect look
