Baby Lock Enlighten overlocker

The Baby Lock Enlighten 2/3/4 thread overlocker is full of features designed to make your life easy and produce high quality results, at up to 1500 stitches per minute.

Forget about loose threads and all the associated tangle and frustration. The ingenious, fully automated ExtraordinAir™ looper threading system makes threading the loopers fun! Just insert the thread into the desired looper port, push the button and with a gust of air the looper is threaded automatically. You can thread all three loopers at once if you like, and you can define the threading order yourself. The handy needle threader does a great job when it comes to threading the needles.

Thanks to the Enlighten's Automatic Thread Delivery™ (ATD) system and the stitch selector, you no longer have to worry about setting and adjusting the thread tension yourself. Perfectly balanced stitches with threads of different qualities on a wide range of materials, from fine through to heavy fabrics, are no longer a matter of good luck.

The Baby Lock Enlighten also helps you stitch curved seams; the extremely small gap between the cutter and needle is a prerequisite to produce perfect curves. The Enlighten’s auxiliary looper / converter can be easily activated for a two-thread stitch. Since it is firmly connected to the upper looper, it can't get lost or misplaced.

In addition to various overlocking, flatlock and rolled hem options, the Enlighten also features  Baby Lock’s unique Wave stitch. You can choose from four different Wave stitch variants to enhance your sewing project. When combined with different sewing threads, the Wave stitch becomes a real feast for the eyes, giving your stitches a completely new, fantastic look.

Your Baby Lock Enlighten lets you adjust the stitch length and width quickly and easily. It is straightforward to deactivate the cutter if you want to sew closed or tubular pieces of clothing. The same switch reactivates the cutter whenever you need it. The cutter  is not fully retracted and you can use it as a guide.

The differential feed can prevent puckering and distortion in stretch fabrics, and allows you to produce consistent results and special gathering and stretching effects on fabrics. And the vertical needles work effortlessly through thicker fabrics.

There’s a handy accessory compartment under the thread spool holder, which can hold all those important tools. LED lights illuminate your work area.  Also for additional safety, the machine will not operate if the presser foot is up, or the side/front cover are open.

ExtraordinAir™ Threading
ExtraordinAir™ Threading completely eliminates the annoying need to thread many points in a specific order for each broken thread or new colour, or having start again from the beginning because of a threading error. . With Baby Lock's exclusive system, looper threading can be completed in less than one minute! Simply insert threads into the threading ports, press a button and a blast of air shoots the threads through the tubular loopers – instantly threading the loopers, either individually or simultaneously. The tubular loopers also prevent the threads from tangling, and by keeping the threads completely separated within the machine, the loopers can be threaded in any order. They also allow you to change any thread without having to re-thread the others. The ExtraordinAir™ system of your Baby Lock Enlighten is simply ingenious!   

Differential Feed
Stretch fabrics often cause problems such as puckering or distorted seams that leave you in despair. Thanks to its differential feed, the Enlighten guarantees an optimum feed of stretch fabrics and thus prevents puckering or protruding seams. You can also use the Enlighten's differential feed to produce fanciful gathering or stretching effects.

Exclusive Wave stitch
Simply change the dial from ‘OVERLOCK’ to ‘WAVE’ and thread the machine with decorative threads to create a beautiful decorative stitch. It can be sewn as a 3-thread wave and reverse wave stitch or a rolled hem, and is a distinctive edging stitch. It can also be sewn as a flat lock wave stitch. Different wave stitch results can be achieved by changing the decorative threads in the upper and lower loopers

Automatic Thread Delivery™ (ATD) System
Never worry about thread tension again, thanks to the Automatic Thread Delivery System on your Enlighten. Simply choose a stitch, set the thread delivery system correspondingly and start sewing. No more tiresome tension adjustment every time you use another fabric, stitch or thread thickness. Even handling difficult fabrics becomes child‘s play because the machine always provides the correct setting to achieve an optimum sewing result. The thread quality is irrelevant. Whether a sturdy yarn or an ultra-thin thread, the seams always look neat. Simply set the ATD System to the desired stitch and your Baby Lock Enlighten will produce exact stitches. The three sensors (stitch width, stitch length and fabric thickness) help you produce perfectly balanced stitches every time.

Tubular loopers
The Baby Lock Enlighten features a unique, compact tubular looper system that guarantees fuss-free, quick threading. Extra-strong loopers in a quality similar to that used in industry make your Baby Lock Enlighten fit for more difficult tasks. Tubular loopers eliminate threading mistakes and protect the thread for more overlocking freedom.

Verticle needle penetration
While many machines use slanted needles that push and damage fabric, the Enlighten's needles are set vertically and sew directly up and down, protecting your fabric and preventing needle deflection.
