The powerful and versatile Bernina 590e gives great results on a huge range of fabrics. There’s a choice of 1774 stitch patterns including 59 quilting & 500 decorative stitches, and Bernina’s Stitch Regulator and Free Hand (knee lifter) are included.

The Bernina 590e is a versatile machine which gives great results in sewing, quilting and embroidery.

The B590e comprises the Bernina 590 machine plus the Bernina 5 series SDT (Smart Drive Technology) embroidery module.

The Bernina 590 is also available to buy without an embroidery module

The embroidery module gives you a bigger embroidery area of 15.7" x 5.9" (400 x 150 mm), and comes with 2 embroidery hoops and embroidery presser foot #26, plus access to embroidery software.

Th B590e is powerful, dealing with multiple layers and tough fabrics and materials with ease. It handles big projects, and gives the finest results in detailed embroidery.  With a work space of 8.5” to the right of the needle large quilts and home décor projects can be handled with ease. There’s also a slide-on freearm extension table that adds room and support around the needle. Several full-shank metal Bernina presser feet (including the Blindstitch foot #5 for invisible hemming) come with the B590e giving you a wide range of sewing options. To keep these handy and organised, a well-designed magnetic accessory box is included.

The Bernina 590e has a total of 1774 stitch patterns, including 38 utility stitches, 59 quilting stitches, 500 decorative stitches, 40 cross stitch programmes, 9 alphabets and 18 buttonholes. It also comes with 275 embroidery designs. The 590e allows you to make all the decisions. You decide what the stitch length and width should be (the maximum stitch width of 9mm is ideal for creating decorative stitches). You can sew and embroider at up to 1000 stitches per minute. You choose the needle position, and whether the needle stays down when it stops. Stitches can be combined or edited, and saved in memory, and stitch settings can be changed while sewing. Triple stitch and stitch elongation are additional features of this machine, adding a wow factor to your creations.  Specialised embroidery functions include pinpoint placement, undo/redo, endless embroidery, thread away, group/ungroup, invisible/smart secure and many more. Guidance is available via the Creative Embroidery Consultant software. All this control is close to hand and easy to use, with the large, intuitive touch screen and multi-function knobs on the front of the machine

The B590e  has so many helpful features. The Bernina Free Hand System (FHS) capability is built in, with the knee lifter included in the accessory package.  The programmable foot control also gives you  more options. The automatic thread cutter is another useful function of the B590e, cutting the thread and raising the needle in an easy one-button operation. The Adjustable foot pressure functionality adjusts for thick or thin fabric to eliminate skipped stitches, and  the Automatic Presser Foot Lifter raises and lowers the foot foot with the push of a button, giving precise guidance of the fabric without taking your hands off the fabric. Adaptive Thread Tension ensures high quality stitching with any fabrics. An automatic upper and lower thread indicator alerts you of a thread breakage. The practical Thread Away mode is a swift movement if the hoop that pulls most of the upper thread tails to the underside for clean embroidery results on the top. 

Bernina Dual Feed ensures fabric is evenly fed from above and below, ensuring great results on smooth or fine materials. It is easy to engage, and tucks away when not in use. The Bernina Hook system keeps every stitch consistent and precise. It incorporates a jumbo bobbin that holds up to 70% more thread than standard bobbins, which means fewer stops and starts with your sewing. And since it is conveniently changed from the front, there’s no need to remove your project.

Smart Drive Technology
The Bernina Smart Drive Technology (SDT) 5 series embroidery module turns an embroidery-capable Bernina sewing machine into an amazing embroidery machine, allowing precise and stunning embroidery results to be achieved in the blink of an eye.The new Smart Drive Technology gives an embroidery speed increased by up to 60%, with a smoother movement and less vibration and noise. 

Bernina Stich Regulator (BSR)
The BSR foot is more than just a presser foot; it produces neat, consistent stitching with stitches of precisely the same length while free-motion sewing. It reacts to the fabric's movement and adjusts the machine speed to match! It regulates perfect, equal-length straight and zigzag stitches at variable sewing speeds to give top quality results to your free-motion quilting.

Bernina Free Hand System (FHS)
With FHS you can raise or lower the presser foot while simultaneously lowering the feed dog without having to take your hands off the fabric, ideal for quilting

Programmable foot control
The foot control is programmable, allowing you to raise or lower the needle with a press of your heel.

Adaptive Thread Tension
The Bernina Adaptive Thread Tension system ensures the ideal thread tension as you sew, helping you to achieve perfect stitch quality on both sides of the fabric. After you set the thread tension for the thread and fabric, your machine continuously checks it as you sew, adjusting it unobtrusively and automatically whenever necessary, resulting in the finest sewing and embroidery quality, with no need to even press a button.

Pinpoint Placement
Placing embroidery perfectly is easy on the B590e. Simply select two points on the screen and match them with the markings on the hooped fabric. Your design is automatically aligned, rotated, resized and positioned  to fit. Plus you have full visibility of the hooped fabric at all times.

Thread Away mode
Thread Away mode is a swift movement of the hoop that pulls most of the upper thread tails to the underside for clean embroidery results on the top

Invisible Secure & Smart Secure
Invisible Secure makes the perfected tie-on/off fomration completely invisible while Smart Secure adds tie-on/off stitches if none are pre-programmed. It's like having your own embroidery fairy!

On-screen design editing, with assistance
The B590e allows design edits directly on the screen during embroidery. Rotate, mirror, combine and rearrange with a simple touch of the screen.
